This policy explains what personal information the Massage Spectra app and website ("we", "us") collect, why, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account details: name, email address, phone number and password (stored only as a secure hash). If you sign in with Google or Apple we receive your name and email from them.
- Location: your device location and the street, city, state and country derived from it, each time you open the app, so we can show therapists near you. Therapists' locations are used to show them to nearby clients while they are online.
- Bookings: the treatment, time, address and notes you provide, and your reviews.
- Therapist verification: legal name, company name and registration number, a photo of an identity document, and selfie photos taken during the liveness check.
- Payments: payments are processed by our payment providers (Paystack and/or Stripe). We receive a payment reference and status, never your full card details.
- Photos you upload to your profile or listings.
How we use it
- To create and secure your account, including sending verification codes by email, SMS or WhatsApp.
- To show nearby therapists, arrange bookings and share the details needed for a booking between client and therapist (for example, the address once a therapist accepts).
- To verify therapists' identity and prevent fraud.
- To process payments and refunds, and to send booking updates by email.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the other party to a booking, as needed, and with service providers who help us run the service: hosting and database, file storage, email (Resend), SMS/WhatsApp (Twilio), and payments (Paystack, Stripe). We do not sell your personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account (Account → Delete account in the app), we remove your personal details. Booking and payment records may be kept as required for accounting and legal purposes. Therapist identity documents are kept only as long as needed for verification and legal obligations.
Your rights
You can access and update your details in the app, delete your account at any time, and contact us to request a copy of your data or to ask questions.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections. Identity documents and liveness photos are stored privately and are only visible to our review team through short-lived links.
Children
Massage Spectra is for adults aged 18 and over.
